Rooted Gingerbread Update for HTC EVO 4G Available

One of the things that I love about the HTC EVO 4G is the fact that it’s so hacker-friendly.  Here we are, not even 24 hours after the latest official update (v4.24.651.1) for the device started hitting the airwaves, and already, XDA Developers forum member xHausx has rooted the update and posted a completely stock version of the ROM for your flashing pleasure.

The ROM is available in both odexed and deodexed forms, and is completely stock, except that it’s rooted, and has superuser and busybox added to it.

You will need to flash the ROM via ClockworkMod.  I did not test this, but I don’t think you will need to do a factory reset on the device IF you are coming from another stock ROM.  However… It’s never a bad idea to do so when you are flashing a new ROM on to your device.

To download the update, just head over to the source link below.
