With the CES show floor set to open in a little more than a day, it’s only natural that we start seeing some show floor sneak peeks. The latest gadget to be spotted on the CES show floor is a new watch-like device from SONY Ericsson which looks very similar to last year’s LiveView. The device features a solid greed rubber wrist band and a “spring-loaded clip” which should allow used to remove the display and use it as an independent device.

The Toshiba AT200, the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet (for now), has just been announced for the US as the Excite X10. It will be available sometime in the first quarter in the US, starting out at $530 for the 16GB model.
At $530, one might expect the Excite X10 to come with a Tegra 3, full HD display and Android 4. Unfortunately, the Excite boasts none of these. While it is the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet, it comes with Android 3.2 (although it should be updated to Android 4 sometime in the future), a 1GHz OMAP 4430, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera, front-facing camera and a smudge-proof 10-inch 1280×800 display.

Along with their IdeaTab S2, Lenovo has just detailed the K91: a smart TV based on Android 4, Ice Cream Sandwich.
As the world’s first smart TV running Android 4, Lenovo aims to “unite three major smart TV functions” with the K91. Video on Demand, Internet applications and traditional TV programs. Lenovo’s custom apps and console quality games will be available from the Lenovo Store, which will be paired with the Android Market. The entire experience will be wrapped in Lenovo’s Smart Sandwich UI.

Lenovo has just announced their IdeaTab S2, a keyboard docking Ice Cream Sandwich tablet set to go head to head with ASUS’ Transformer devices.
Coming in at a familiar 10.1-inches, the IdeaTab S2 is Lenovo’s stunningly gorgeous attempt at a tablet with a keyboard dock. Along with an extra 10 hours of battery life, the keyboard dock for the IdeaTab comes with two USB ports, and a handy card reader. As far as specs on the tablet itself go, it’s certainly no slouch.

Today Acer announced a new pair of ultrabooks, but the real star of the show was an unnamed Android tablet they teased for about five seconds. No details were provided on the tablet, but we recognized it as the previously-leaked Acer Iconia Tab A700.
The only details that Acer provided on the tablet was that it had a quad-core processor and 10 inch display with native full HD 1080p. Earlier leaks suggest the Iconia Tab A700 also features 1920 x 1200 resolution, Tegra 3 processor, 5 MP camera with flash, Dolby Digital audio, micro-HDMI port, micro-SD card slot, a dedicated rotation lock switch, and a 9800 mAh battery.

After failing to produce a compelling Android tablet, ViewSonic will now try their hand at producing low-end Android phones. Elizabeth Woyke of Forbes reports that ViewSonic will unveil the ViewPhone 3 at CES next week. This budget Android phone is aimed at the emerging Latin American markets, but ViewSonic will also sell an unlocked model in the US that will operate on AT&T and T-Mobile.

We were expecting to see the WiFi-only Xyboard make an appearance at CES this week anyway, but apparently Motorola wanted to get out ahead of the madness as they have already popped up for pre-order on the Motorola’s store.

The first two Android phones released into the wild were the T-Mobile (HTC) G1 and the HTC MyTouch 3G. For many, these phones represented a new and open way of thinking about smartphones, combining powerful (at the time) hardware with open source software. The G1 and MyTouch 3G were widely acclaimed as pure Google devices, as they ran the stock version of the Android operating system.
