Hollywood is all a twitter this awards season .There are some strange and wonderful rituals that accompany the Golden Globes and the Oscars, including “gifting suites” sometimes called “Hospitality suites” or “style lounges.” Aimed to get products into the hands of celebs who might be photographed with the purse, shoe, dress, jewelry, it’s also a bonanza for the press, where we preview the new trends, styles and new beauty “inventions.” We know, we know, it’s a tough job, but..
We hit the two most popular, starting with the Secret Room Events Style Lounge to benefit “To Write Love On Her Arms” at the swanky SLS hotel. (Celebs autographed a git bag which will be auctioned online.)
While loading up on shoes like Holster, a casual jeweled beach wear sandal out of Australia, or Jellypops, a sassy, affordable bootie and shoe line, and fancy hair care such as the Number 4 which boasts “forward-edge technology” and indulging in the manicure and massage treatments, we saw the latest and greatest beauty and style inventions.
For instance, CGear Multimat or sand free mat was very popular. Originally designed as a deployable helimat to eliminate dirt, dust and debris from being kicked up by the helicopters rotors when landing, the inventors then applied the same technology to its’ beach mat. It works by allowing the sand to fall through the rug, without coming back up. Genius.
To give you an idea, here is just some of the sponsors gifting Golden Globe nominees at the Secret Events soiree: trips to the Caribbean from Caribbean Living Magazine; FUSIONEXCEL, N3Y Japanese skin care products, La racing X, Elvislaskin, Balensi Spa Inc, Number 4 Hair care, Nubar Cosmetic Products, Lovopoly.com, Smiink Australia “smile & wink bar, Holster Shoes, Cgear Sand-Free, GlyMed Plus, PTL Global Inc NuBra Seamless, Xen-Tan, JellyPop Shoes, Biotivias Celle, Myfaceworks, Sprout Watches, Trentadue Winery, Cailyn Cosmetics From Smile World, Melissa Shoes, EcoLife By Intek ,Passion Parties Inc. and more.
Next, we traveled up the hill (Beverly Hills, that is) to jeweler-to-the-stars Pascal Mouawad’s glam pad, who hosted celebs such as Jenny McCarthy, Bachlorette Ali Fedotowsky, Milla Jovovich, and Chad Rogers (Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing) among others. As part of the new Nivea “Look Like You Give A Damn” campaign, men enjoyed a complimentary shave while both sexes chose, hair styling by Mika of Gavert Atelier salon,Valerie Beverly Hills make up and eye brow shaping, JOICO Hair Care, and of course the stars debated over couture gowns for the big event Sunday night. (Jenny McCarthy, above, received over 8,000 dollars worth of Pascal Mouawad Diamonds. Nice to be Queen.)
For the Oscars, we’ll “gift” our readers with a sweepstakes $5,000 celeb bag, so stay tuned!
