Hover bike created by Australian designer

At the end of my bio on the Popgadget ‘about’ page I wrote that my dream gadget would be a hover board, like those in Back to the Future or even Thundercats. Well according to Ubergizmo it might not be such a crazy dream-like idea after all, as Australian mechanical designer Chris Malloy is working on creating his very own hover bike – OK, so it might not be a board, but surely that’ll be the next step…
The hover bike has been designed to move above the ground with the help of two propellers and uses the same kind of flying principle as a tandem-rotor Chinook helicopter with one of the huge propellers at the front and another at the back.
Although the hover bike has been designed right down to the smallest detail, it’s yet to be tested, which in all honesty doesn’t fill me with much confidence. However, Malloy is confident the bike will be a success and believes it could be ready to go into production in the next few years.
