Analysis: Ellison’s recent admission that he’d considered the buy raises visions of an Oracle-owned RIM that looks a lot different than today’s firm with its reputation mired, senior execs bailing, and a litany of other problems.

Microsoft takes on Evernote with Office OneNote on iPad


Microsoft on Monday quietly released an iPad-specific version of Office OneNote, the note-taking application in Microsoft’s Office suite.

At CES last year, Microsoft’s OneNote team admitted that few people were using OneNote even though it had been part of Office for the better part of a decade. As an application class that lent itself nicely to mobile use (evinced by Evernote) its utility on a PC was less than obvious.

The white iPhone 4 may never see the light of day as Apple admitted Tuesday that it would not meet its end of year goal for the model’s release. When pressed on the issue by Reuters, a spokesperson said the white iPhone won’t make an appearance until at least Spring 2011.
