Scrub-a-dub-dub, there's Facebook in the tub.

It will be a sad day when you can’t tear yourself away from Facebook long enough to take a shower. Start weeping. The Social Shower Curtain is on its way from gift designer SpinningHat.

The Social Shower Curtain looks a lot like a classic Facebook profile page, complete with a familiar white and blue color scheme and status updates. It tells bad jokes and is in a relationship with Limescale.

For TiVo users, TiVo’s iOS app makes a convincing argument for having a dedicated iPad for your living room. As of today, you can also say it makes a strong case for buying a Kindle Fire, as the same app is now available for Android devices.

TiVo)

In a nutshell, the TiVo app–which works with smartphones and tablets–lets you control, search, browse, explore, and comment on Facebook and Twitter all without interrupting the programming currently playing on your TiVo box. (Check my coverage of the iOS app to see all that it can do.)

There are plenty of great bluetooth keyboards available for those working with tablet devices or tiny netbooks, but we love this Levitatr keyboard, which has elevating, LED backlit keys that raise up when you need them.

Not only does this look pretty cool, but it means you can carry it around in your bag with your laptop without worrying about the keys getting damaged.

Available from Levitatr for $99.

TK-421 iPhone keyboard case for mobile typing

TK-421 iPhone keyboard case for mobile typing

phone-keyboard.jpg

We’ve seen plenty of portable bluetooth keyboards and keyboard cases for tablets and iPads, but this is the first we’ve come across for the iPhone.

The TK-421is actually a phone case, but it has a flip-out keyboard inside, which you can use for texting, emails and using your favourite apps.

If you’re not content with the device’s teeny touchscreen keyboard, this might be the perfect solution. However, be prepared for it to add a lot of bulkiness to your usual streamlined iPhone.

Particularly for smartphones, there are many apps that promise improved privacy and security for your mobile communications. Like all apps, some are very good, but other are poorly written or overpriced, and may even be malicious. This article will help you evaluate whether you should trust their promises.

Before You Start

Security apps are most useful as part of a coherent security policy covering all your mobile communications. The Mobile Risk Assessment Primer will help you complete an inventory of mobile communications risks, and decide which are most important and most feasible to mitigate.
