Combining a laptop and tablet simply won’t work, which is why Microsoft’s plan to deploy Windows 8 on both will be a disaster, Apple CEO Tim Cook declares.

We love this miniature MacBook Air, which doubles up as a sweet (yet geeky) little compact mirror.

Available from W3SHstore for 19.95 euros.

HTC unveils Mango phones: Titan and Radar

HTC unveils Mango phones: Titan and Radar

Taiwanese smartphone veterans HTC today unveiled their new Windows Phones, Titan and Radar, which are powered by Mango, the latest version of Windows Phone. They both come in familiar HTC shapes, but offer some improvements in performance and design.

Titan, as the name suggests, is rather big. With a 4.7″ screen, it’s actually HTC’s largest smartphone to use the company’s 9.9mm aluminum casing. HTC drew inspiration from Apple’s Macbook laptops, and originally debuted these aluminum shells on the Legend early last year, but that was a single machined piece, and the phone was considerably smaller.

Apple’s 11.6-inch MacBoook is all the Air I need

Apple's 11.6-inch MacBoook is all the Air I need

MacBook Air

I haven’t been this satisfied with a laptop since purchasing a 266MHz PowerBook G3 in February 1999. Apple’s smaller MacBook Air is unexpectedly satisfying. By the specs, the little laptop should disappoint. By the experience, it’s a delight. I’m simply stunned by how much I enjoy using this notebook — or should that be netbook?

Life-changing iPad? Not My Life.

Life-changing iPad? Not My Life.

By Tim Conneally, Betanews

iPad with Kid

An article published by Macworld’s Christoper Breen today said the iPad has the “power to compel change,” and that it had “brought welcome changes” to his life.

Sadly, most of the “life changes” Breen spoke of were just new peripherals he added to make his iPad actually useable in his daily regimen.

Well, I too have been testing an iPad. But unlike Breen, I don’t change my life according to my gear…I change my gear to suit to my life.

Is the Apple iPad "magical"?

Is the Apple iPad "magical"?

appleipad.jpg
Today was 2010’s first iDay- the announcement of a new or updated Apple product, predictably following months, or in this case years of feverish speculation. Steve Jobs gave the gathered press the first glimpse of the super-tablet himself, proudly declaring the new iPad not just revolutionary, but magical. It is undeniably sleek, beautiful, and impressive to look at but is it necessary, especially for people already toting around iPhones or iPod Touches, along with a MacBook or a MacBook Air?
