Great video of the Super-AMOLED Samsung Wave phone outdoors
Thursday, February 18, 2010 7:20 No CommentsMy buddy Ron over at oled-info.com has let me know about a video he found (which is sourced at portablegear.nl) that shows the Samsung Wave (which is packing a Super-AMOLED screen) being used out in the sunlight. As many of us know, AMOLED/OLED screens have been quite variable in terms of their performance in sunlight, so it’s reassuring to see the Wave screen is good
Anyway, check out the video here:

We’ll try to live blog it, tethering with so many mobile phone geeks in one room is never nice, but in case our network goes down you’ll be able to watch Nokia’s event live on Nokia’s Mobile World Congress page.
We don’t know what they’re going to announce, but if the picture I took after I picked up my press badge is right, then we’re going to see something related to Intel.

This video tells his story of how he started, how he fumbled, and how he ended up rocking Japan with computer animated almost nude women.
Bracelet Concept Doubles as USB Connector
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 3:20 No Comments
This neat little concept from designer Laurent Hongisto called Lisco shows how a USB cable could be built into a bracelet. The wrist is an awfully prime location for mobile tech, considering both watch-style accessories and full-blown phones are gaining popularity (at least from manufacturers). It looks like we’re only going to see more stuff like this, considering all of the talk surrounding emerging bendable technology seems to lend itself to wristwear. This little Lisco wouldn’t take much to move from concept to reality while maintaining a reasonable price point, but although it’s a handy way to make sure you’re never hurting for a charge or sync, wearable electronics still has a lot of convincing to do before seeing mass adoption.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Releases on the iPhone
Monday, January 18, 2010 16:20 No Comments
Late last summer, Rockstar announced it was bringing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars to the iPhone / iPod Touch platform. Originally, Rockstar Games had planned to release the game in Fall 2009, but they quietly pushed back the release date.
Today, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars can finally be downloaded through the App Store for .99. When you consider the Nintendo DS version costs .99, and the PSP costs .99, the you’ll see how much of a bargain this price point is for the title. If that wasn’t enough to sell you on the game, its been critically acclaimed by almost everyone in the press.
