Vringo launches social caller ID and video ringtone app for Android

Vringo launched the social caller ID and video ringtone application for Android-powered smartphones called Vringo for Android. Available as a free download from Vringo’s website, the beta application is designed to “redefine the traditional caller ID experience letting users find, create and continue to share full screen video ringtones with their friends.”
As that’s the case with Vringo apps for other platforms, Vringo for Android also allows users to make their own video ringtones either by using their phone’s camera or by uploading any video stored in their phone’s memory. In addition, users can browse a catalog of thousands of free and premium video ringtones from Vringo’s collection.
As for the caller ID part of the app, it relies on VringForward, Vringo’s “inverted ringback” technology, allowing users to pre-record various status or mood updates and quickly send them to their friends without talking to them… More information and download instructions are available from this page on Vringo’s website.
